A Big Thank-You.

I’d just like to squeeze in a quick post about the Ontario Arts Council.  I’ve gotten a lot of help from them this year in the form of Exhibition Assistance grants.  Without their help, I would not have been able to appear at IDS ’11 or The Queen West Art Crawl.  They have a huge number of programs to help out working artists.  There’s lots of funding out there guys!  You just need to know where to look!  There’s really no risk involved, just a bit of time,  so apply for anything you are eligible for!

Here’s the link:

And one for the main site too.  Look at all those grants!

I think I’ll post some other avenues that people can take advantage of in the coming weeks so keep an eye out!

Happy Movember!

  1. Hello Clayton,
Congratulations and thank you for your kind acknowledgment of the work and support of the Ontario Arts Council. I just wanted to take a moment to clarify one of your points. Unfortunately there is no relation between the number of applications we receive and our budget. While we encourage as many artists as possible to apply to OAC programs, that number has no bearing on our annual budget allocation from the Government of Ontario. Would it be possible for you to correct that information in your blog post? We wouldn’t want to give people the wrong impression. If you or your readers have any questions about all the programs offered at the OAC, I encourage you to visit our website at http://www.arts.on.ca and or contact our Information Services Coordinator, Janice Lambrakos at 416-969-7429. Thank you so much for taking the time to acknowledge and promote us on your site!

    • Hello Nancy,

My apologies! I was obviously misinformed. I will fix it ASAP! I appreciate your commenting on the post and again, huge thanks to the OAC for all your support!

      All the Best,

      • All better Nancy! Sorry about that!

  2. No problem. Thank you for the correction.
